![]() I think that Google Drive for Desktop has special behavior that makes itself included in the explorer search, despite indexing options and Windows Search Excluded Folders options, and can only be excluded in the query string. To do this, click Preferences > Sync Options > Only these folders Here, youll be presented with a list of subfolders from Google Drive that. UPDATE: after checking my indexed locations, I'm still seeing bad search results. I'm guessing the solution would be some special search syntax involving the path and Not. If I try adding a folder on a different drive (C:\Source) it shows up in the list. In the Excluded Folders section, I click the the Add and excluded folder button and select the G:\ folder (I've also tried a subfolder in there) and then the folder doesn't get added to the list. (b) excluding the folder in the "Searching Windows" options (launched from Win S windows search options). If you use a service like odrive, you could use it to sync with google drive, amazon cloud, dropbox, onedrive, box, s3, and it ignores a bunch of system files. ![]() I've checked my Search Indexing options and the G:\ drive is not included. What you need to do is unlink the machine then use the Auto Save option in the OneDrive Settings to choose the folders you want to keep synced. I'm trying to search using an explorer window using the search box (F3). ![]() If you use the Google Drive Desktop sync client, youll probably want to tell it not to sync this folder (its available in the options). I want to search my local hard disks and my removable USB thumb drives while excluding my Google Drive (G:). If you migrate all of your media to the Home Assistant folder structure and you dont exclude it from the backup, you could easily chew up your entire Google Drive space in a single backup.
